I'm finishing up the most elaborated Prometheus fan edit ever created. Who is interested?

MemberOvomorphJun-10-2025 4:51 PMI'm want to get the Alien community hyped for a new version of Prometheus. I think I'm at around 80% done with editing, rotoscoping, recording additional vocals. For the base of the movie I used the Open Matte Hybrid version. Also used most of the deleted scenes of the original blu ray and complementing bonus material. Implemented some parts of the workprint and expanded on that. My guess is that the runtime will be around the 200 minute mark. Started working on this last febuari 2025. When the movie originally released I did a simple cut and paste edit with all the deleted scenes because I did not have the knowledge, skill and hardware to do this. Now years later I absorbed all the theories, youtube video's, fan edits and blu ray material. I always wanted to make the best version of this movie I could. This is the year my dream finally realizes. It won't please everybody and I'm making this for myself but I also want to try to release it to the fans because I think they deserve it. This movie had so much potential to become a masterpiece but it never came to be. Love all the work other fans put into it but for me it never felt complete. The creator of the workprint version added cgi to some scenes that I could never do. I am forever greatfull to his work. Prometheus has been on my mind for the last half year and even all the years before. But now it has consumed me so much that I could no longer keep myself from editing my own version and release it to the fans. Once it is done I'll see how to release it without copyright infringement.

I too have spent much time and effort to actually writing a two part sequel to Prometheus which continues the promise of the great themes within WITHOUT harming Alien Covenant!
I have already sent the first part, (which is titled’Janus’) to Dark Nebula and he is reading it and will give me feedback when he finishes.
if you like I can send you the script for Janus as well if you would be interested in reading it too.
the basic premise is that it takes the surviving members of Prometheus, (some have actually survived that we thought dead) and brings them into the same timeframe as Ripley8 (Without harming Alien Covenant) and climaxing in a ultimate finally that brings the series to a satisfying end. This is NOT a time travel story!

Pulling all the tricks I know to make this the ultimate version of Prometheus.
As much character development shots as I can find. Except for a few that I don't like or think don't contribute to the story and the characters.
Using the original soundtrack to close some audio gaps.
I dug really deep in all of the 4 disc collectors edition blu rays. Saw what other fan editors did and build upon that.
It will be a combination of others work, perfected that and added so much of my own work.
Color graded all the shots that were still ungraded so that everything has the same feel.
For some it might be too long and boring but this is for people like me that want to spend every second possible staying in this world and story.
The engineers are my favorite part of the Alien lore. It made the world so much deeper and complexer. First the Alien franchise was just a professional B movie series. The engineer lore makes it so much more interrsting in my opinion. The creation of man connected to the xenomorphs and the engineers (space jockeys) is just perfect for me.
