(SPOILERS) Alien: Romulus final act

Spoilers below

At the end of the film, Kay after being injected with the pathogen, gives birth to a strange acidic alien egg, from which emerges a humanoid abomination that’s referred to as the Offspring on IMDb. Thoughts on it?

When I first saw it, it reminded me of the mutants from Pandorum (2009), with a hint of Pluto from The Hills Have Eyes (1977). It also resembled a hybrid of a Neomorph and an Engineer. It was pretty damn tall too, maybe 9 feet tall or more. When Rain found it consuming Kay, its tail was growing in the process.

That reminds me of the Gibson Alien 3 Dark Horse Comic xenomorph transformation just a lot more creepier

Xenomorphs tend to grow really fast, the baby form was essentially it's chestburster phase.

I'm sure the Offspring has Engineer DNA, I think they made it clear: they found the black goo ampules on LV-223.

Don't understand the black goo at all. It appears in more than one movie but they don't explain exactly what it does.

I was not expecting much before I watched the movie, but was extremely pleased with Alien Romulus!  I thought the Offspring was awesome, but I am in fact, a long time Engineer-lover!!

The Offspring creeped me out so, the job was done well lol I too, loved the inclusion of Prometheus lore and Engineer DNA in the film’s final act. Hoping more of this gets fleshed out in the Romulus sequel. 🙏🏻

I was totally fine with the Engineer being there, the Engineers are the best part of the prequels. Hopefully they will be used in later movies, let's see.

I hope so too. Would love them to answer some of the questions I have starting with the first movie, Alien.

It reminded me a lot of Alien Resurrection and the Newborn. Both final surprise ending acts in the crew's ship, tall pale curious humanoid monster, and it being sucked out into the vacuum of space.

In the beginning of the film, they mentioned dollars as a bet payment. This film did answer some of my questions. It was more informative than the others. They are mostly with the same theme. A woman who knows everything that no one else does and always saves the day, a developing love story between that woman and one of the men, men and women who go to fight the monster, greed, and the woman always wins and goes away without her man.

They are all just getting repititious like James Patterson books.

Actually it is. Been a fan since Alien. Enjoy science fiction. Maybe the show is just in it's infancy and needs development.

Not talking about the show. I mean your complaints that nothing makes sense or it's really repetitive. I believe you're more of a casual fan that likes two maybe three movies
