i saw that the Xenomorph queen was scared of flames when Ellen ripley fired up the flamethrower and spit a few short flames, so the queen orders the other Xenomorph to step back.
so i seem like the Xenomorph have some form of intelligence.
i just thought about titan Prometheus in that precise moment because according to Greek mythology he stole Zevs flame and gave it to us something that enable us to evolve to what we are today.....
in other words he gave us a power the other engineers have or had.
but maybe he gave us a power that the engineers feared because they could match it.
(The theft of fire for human use, an act that enabled progress and civilization)
but what can that power be? the power to repopulation or power to Adaptation or something else.
how i see it the Sacrificial Engineer seem to have a hidden agenda, either to stop the engineers from what they are doing or the show the other engineers that we where able to become a independent lifeforms.

The Sacrificial Engineer is seen as also the ancient Babylonian myth abouth Kingu and him giving his own blood to mix with the clay of the Earth. Prometheus might be a "diety" of ancient Sumer which is much much older and it tells about guy named Enki and his "fishmen"named Uanna or Oannes. Who came down into the present day Perisan Gulf and gave man knowledge. I love this movie with all of its ancient alien concepts in it and how the Engineers are these super tall, strong, race. In human history however it is known that these are the famous Nefilim and Malachim of the Bibles Old Testament.

It seems to me that in many ancient folklore that 'aliens' are often depicted in human term as being superior not only as you describe but also being smart and have 'special powers.
I sort of wander if Engineers meeting humans would have had 6 arms, two heads or something with wings.
I was thinking of a movie from the 1980's called 'Batteries not Included'.
There the spaceship and aliens were quite a bit smaller.
As I recall the humans were not afraid at all.
I suspect the Engineers don't would want to create new life that was superior to themselves!
