MemberOvomorphDec-21-2012 1:39 PMI've used G4 pond-sealant and glassfibre wool for the effect below.
It looks messy as with my SJ bust sculpture a couple of years back, but once casted the surface roughness/fibres looks integrated as part of the casting.
Not too late to fill the proboscis before moulding - what do you all say to this?
Think I should make it whole or not?

It's not too late to lose the bone cracks too, but I'm undecided on that still.

MemberOvomorphDec-22-2012 1:07 AMThanks Tankgirl, yes, that's an 'oldie' in the background - it's a resin cast of an SJ head variation I did back in 2003. Some images here:

I should have a finished cast of the 'Decap' SJ head out within a couple of weeks and I'll be selling them certainly. But only as a very limited run as with much of the work on my site. I've decided to keep the cracks as the reference photos of the film-stills I have seem to show the surface cracks clearly.

MemberOvomorphDec-22-2012 1:46 PMThanks Lone. I've decided to keep the cracks because they are indeed present on the film SJ head and I've filled out that trunk cavity more but still retaining that small rotted area and a general outline of the trunk. First layer of silicone has gone on today.
