Ridley Scott will eventually tell us how the Queen was born.
Right now we have the Deacon; coming soon the Mercury, the May and the Taylor.

MemberOvomorphDec-21-2012 7:58 AMThanks again all. Even though these photobucket pics below say 'complete' still not sure before moulding. Not sure if I want to have the proboscis cut away or whole - is this 'broken trunk' shown in the film anyone? I'd better check the blu-ray and see. Still undecided as to wether to put a coating of mummified skin on too - it may spoil the skull detail. I could do a very subtle coating as a compromise. Hang in there everyone, I'll decide soon.

MemberOvomorphDec-21-2012 8:59 AMI like the subtle shapes shown on this sculpture. Would any coloring destroy the details?
In any case it is a great project.
I don't recall seeing a broken probiscus..

MemberOvomorphDec-21-2012 1:23 PMHR Giger air sprayed the original in Alien. Remember though at that stage he was thinking in terms of an exoskeleton, which has now been altered to a helmet. So you may want to study the new images from Prometheus. I say that because I don't remember the space helmet in Prometheus having micro fractures that suggest the human skull with all of its wiggly natural fissures. I just remember that the texture on the outside head was old looking and maybe a crack or two but not with skull like patterns. PS its awesome either way.

MemberOvomorphDec-21-2012 1:35 PMThanks Indy, Cerulean and Nostromo.
@Cerulean - I was referencing a combination of the SJ from Alien and the one from Prom with the bone cracks, but I have refs also of the bare castings which seem to have bone-like ossified surfaces and holes. It's the usual artistic licence on my part to not get the work TOO film-accurate, so hey, why not a bone suit?
I love old bone formations much the same way Giger does.
