Just a quick discussion regarding the upcoming 21st December Doomsday, how many of you think something is going to happen. There has been a lot of debate and worry by some as to what this date means and even Hollywood has taken advantage of it with movies like 2012 and Knowing to name a few.
So here is a run down about what some of the potential things that could or not happen.
But first ultimately this date is the end of the current Mayan Long Count Calender.
1. Mayans say this is the End of another Cycle of some 5200 years but this also coincides with the near 26'000 year Earth's precession of the equinoxes. The Mayans claim a few things to occur at the end of every cycle and that is that Mankind Evolves and get a Upgrade. They say these will be a spiritual awakening due to vibration that will unlock our potential with our locked DNA and unused portion of our brains.
They also say that the date will also be when we cross the Galactic Center of the Galaxy, well its where our Sun will rise in direct line with the center of the Galaxy viewed from Earth and that on this day the return of their creator God will occur.
Thats the main things from the Mayans but they do say that with each end of a Cycle starts a period of calamity as the world begins for a new era. Some speculate this will bring Earthquakes and Storms and a Polar Shift.
They Mayans do describe the End of the World but as with the Bible and Koran it does not give a date for this, it only describes that the Worlds Finally destruction will come at the hands of World Wide Super Volcanic Activity as our Mantle is dissolved and forced to the surface.
2. Many believe this will be the date that finally Alien visitors will come and reveal themselves, some think this will be a great time for Mankind and other that their appearance will not be good but destructive.
3. Some claim that the Anunnaki will return as their Planet Nibiru (planet X) enters our solar system and more so that this planet is part of another solar system that is entering ours and that it is due any time after 21st December and it will cause a mass of natural disasters and a Pole Shift and then the creator Gods will come and visit us and not for the purpose of Good.
4. Some Christians believe this date will be either the Rapture, the start of the 7 year tribulation and even some the return of Christ. Butt he Bible has a set number of occurrences that will occur before any of those are set to occur, as described in Revelation including the destruction of Israel and then Rebuilding of a Temple, Abomination of desolation the Tribulation and before those the mark of the beast.
And while yes many signs match that of the Bible not every one has ran its course and thus neither of the above will surely happen or start to by Tomorrow.
5. Solar Activity, some are saying that the Sun will cause a major Solar Flare that will destabilize our magnetic field, it will cause the Earth to stop rotating for a few days and or cause a Polar Shift.
6. Some say that we will suffer due to heavenly body interference and by that something from Space will cause havoc to our World be that a Comet, a Meteor or some other Body in Space passing through that would cause Chaos including a Polar Shift etc.
Are any of these things going to happen?
Sure yes Polar Shifts have and will again happen, and Asteroids etc have hit Earth and will again, but we just dont know the date for when these things will happen next.
They could happen tomorrow... unlikely as how would you cover that up, they could happen in 10 years, 100 years, a Millennium a Million we just dont know but they will happen again.
Or its its just a case of just the start of another calender cycle much like in 12 Days it will go from 2012 to 2013.
I for one will be out for a few drinks, and only wish i got me ...

This is that the Mayan Long count is ending, but so have they before and a new one begins.
Yes they say that the period of transition from the end of one and start of another is a period of Calamity (which we have) but then after this it is a new era of life.
The precession of the equinox they say will be a time of awaking for mankind as our world changes from 3rd dimension to 5th and their Maya gods will be reunited with us.
This latter part well we have yet to see if this is just a Myth or Not.
We cant rule out Nibiru, we cant rule out the things said in the Bible but we can rule out them occurring on or around this date of 21/12/2012.
Another Fact of Destruction is we will see far worse Earth Quakes than recorded and Storms this is inevitable, but we cant forecast and predict if these things will occur on any such dates.
The World will suffer a Polar Shift and it will be hit by a Heavenly Body, the world will enter another Ice Age. These things will happen as they have before over and over, but in the grand scale of time there is no way of knowing when these things will occur just that they will.
There will be World War 3, 4 and 5 etc again we dont know when these will occur.
But they are all surely to occur over the next few Million Years...

AdminEngineerDec-20-2012 11:20 AMGreat thread [b]BigDave[/b]! I've been watching all the shows on the Discovery channel these past few days, pretty interesting stuff. I find a lot of it funny however, not discounting facts. There are so many possibilities. But I agree with you, many of the prophecies foretold in ancient scripts have yet to come true with regards to predicting the end of days.
And in regards to Nibiru - we would see that coming quite a quite in advance. So I'm ruling that out.
I think a new World War is bound to occur at some point, hopefully not in my lifetime or any of yours though. As per natural disasters, I believe that more than anything.
Nature has a way of balancing itself out, when populations get too large, Nature takes over and thins it out so the Earth can continue to sustain that population. We Humans are populating at such a rate, that researchers believe by 2050, we'll have increased our population by 30%, and that will be on the brink of Earth's sustainability for us.
So, do I think we'll see harsher Earth Quakes? Yeah. There's quite a few fault lines too that are bound to erupt any time now also. And with the way Humanity treats its environment, I wouldn't be surprised if we trigger numerous disasters in an attempt to "clean us up".
In the Bible, when Humanity got too horrid, God sent the Flood (not the Flood from Halo either ;) ), but in that same text, God promises he would never again send a Flood to wipe out Humanity. So, it's difficult to say what will happen.
I think life goes on, and life has ways of keeping itself in balance. If we will be part of a "balancing act", then so be it. Many generations before us have faced much worse. I think people are freaking out because of the date itself. I personally think everyone is off by 100 years.
The date should look like this: 21/12/2112 - Just looks better, haha.

If aliens suddenly reveal themselves to the world, will I find them getting the rounds in down my local. Doubt it.
The nearest thing to doing something biblical will be when I annoint the back of my throat with alcohol, the minute the clock strikes 12 heralding the start of the 22nd and noticing a certain genre of books losing money on Amazon.
Now then, I’m off to stand at the top of a hill during a thunderstorm, dressed in a suit of armour whilst hurling abuse at the gods.

MemberOvomorphDec-20-2012 12:31 PMnormally when a calender ends you start a new one. considering the world is going to end tommorow there doesnt seem to be much happening, wouldnt there be warning signs like increased sizemic activity of maybe a large burning rock in the sky. ive checked the NASA website and it has ruled out anything coming from space. there's flooding in the north of England but thats about it.
by the way wasnt Nibiru ment to cross into Earth orbit in 2003? and wouldnt we see a planet the size of Jupiter coming. i dont think Aliens would invade us, they've probally been watching our day time tv and decided to avoid us.
a polar sifts and ice ages take millions of years to take place and wouldnt bring the end of the world because we've survived the last ones.

If you add in the many other problems you got a ticking time bomb...merry Christmas heh :)

And yes we are Pole Shifting the Poles are moving little by little and nothing suddenly that will cause a massive change or a complete reverse.
As far as Nibiru goes yes it would cause changes but it cant be whats causing ours as they would get progressively worse, not have a major quake then calm then weaker ones.
Look at the one that hit Japan if that was due to Nibiru we should get more since then each getting worse and worse.
And while we cant see a brown dwarf we would feel its effects. So as far as Nibiru who knows but its not gonna be here tomorrow if ever at all.

Something to do with the vibration and changes in magnetic field that will alter our Evolution and thats why the Pyramids was built also Egyptian maybe for same reason.
That is to concentrate the vibration which will open up our minds and spirits, and once we have been upgraded some folk lore passed from Mayans down the years is this is when we are ready and evolved enough to then meet with the Gods/spiritual beings.
There are people on the internet who claim to be in contact with Pleiadians who gave same information to the native indians such as the Hopi and that we will be upgraded spiritually so we can take full use of our minds, souls and body and once we achieve this then we would be ready to meet our brothers from the stars....
Quite bizarre and the only proof is if this happens.
My money is on nothing happening.

MemberFacehuggerDec-20-2012 3:55 PMLol let's not get carried away allot of Mayan predictions and translations are a bit sketchy at best...the whole 21st date is only a guess they only know the calendar ends sometime in Decemberand the 21st is the winter solstice or shortest day for us in the northern hemisphere (and longest i guess in the southern) that's why it was chosen as best guess. So specifics like that are more than likely exaggerated twisted by the translator...
I should add that lots of translations say nothing about the end of the world...I guess one of which is the vibration one...
And yer peak oil - unfortunately that theory seems to be only supported by a few nut jobs. But we will run out one day just hope it's not too soon as we are so not ready for that...it''ll be like Armageddon - if you think about how much stuff relys on oil it's scarey...

I knew their radio hits but not much else.. Still it was an imnpressive display of fan support.

The fact is that individuals have been predicting the end of the world since the beginning of the world. And none of them have been right so far.
