MemberOvomorphMar-09-2012 5:46 PMThis is only the desire of a fan mixed with speculation, but I really hope to see something totally biomechanical, a new race of monsters that could be the parents of the Xenomorph. Or even a biomechanical human hybrid, as a kind of human future or advance in the evolution of the human race.
I think Weyland is behind all this, including the pregnancy of Elizabeth Shaw. Although we can not fail to take into account the Engineers / Space Jockeys. Weyland could use the reverse engineering to give life to the perfect soldier.

Perhaps the biomechanical hybrid is the next step in evolution such as the dinosaur man in this photo:

On the other hand we have the serpent gif, which may be related to the parasite leaked trailer:

If we see a snake in Prometheus I hope it is based on the biomechanical aspect, like this:

but I also like this:

Well, what I most hope is that the creatures or monsters prometheus not stray too far from the aesthetic biomechanics of Giger. Most likely we will see entirely new things, but it is best not to stray too far from its original atmosphere. (especially if we consider that the story is triggered in the same universe as Alien)
Now I ask you:
what do you think about the role to take on Prometheus Weyland?
And, How would you like the look of the monsters of Prometheus?

MemberOvomorphMar-09-2012 6:49 PMOh that's a difficult one , mmm It needs to be something unique not an easy task i have no specific ideas but the creature designs of neville page are sometimes good but he's style of late has become very formulated . Having said that he has said he worked his socks of creating all kinds of designs to impress ridley who told him it needs to be better then giger a very tall order indeed, but what he came up with ridley was happy with .
Neville page was responsible for the creature in super 8 , and cloverfield, amongst others.
I hope his designs if they are chosen for this film are his best yet as there are many concept artists attached to the film, Maybe even giger himself has come up with something mind blowing again, fingers crossed.

MemberOvomorphMar-09-2012 7:11 PM@alteredstateI agree that would be pretty cool new designs that surpass the originals, that is something cool to impress. Prometheus will certainly want to take a trip back in time, never to the future (if we consider the Alien franchise as posterios Prometheus). Thus we have a true prequel to conclude with something more familiar.

MemberOvomorphMar-09-2012 7:14 PMI don't know that I buy corporate malevolance in this film the way it plays out in 'Alien'. What struck me in Weyland's TED Talk was the opening, the mention of T.H. Lawrence and the match. The trick being, "not minding it hurts." Weylands opens with that and then launches into the Promethean myth and the long history of man's advancements hence - culminating in the proclamation that "we are the Gods now."
I see an arrogant exploration into reaches of space that Weyland, the Company and the crew of the Prometheus are in now way prepared for. 'Prometheus' appears to me to be an exclamation of the consequences of such unbridled "progress" lacking any kind of humility. Not that man shouldn't progress forward in the search for knowledge, but more often than not, our species does so arrogantly, stupidly, with no regard for anything but the pursuit, with little to no considerations as to the dangers, without being prepared in any reasonable way and that almost always ends bloody. That's what I see in 'Prometheus' - a mission with its head screwed on ass backwards that gets a lot of people killed and because there's no way for mankind to prepare for that sort of thing and yet they venture forth anyway.....

MemberOvomorphMar-09-2012 7:43 PM@craigamore Certainly we can see the level of arrogance in the words of Peter Weyland, "Now, we are the gods." I think the quote "ends justify the means" also describes perfectly the behavior of Weyland. We're talking about a thirst for power in all its glory.
Weyland could be a victim of himself. I think we'll see mad scientists like Dr. Frankenstein, and that will not stop until his objectives. Here come into play guinea pigs, lab rats to pay the price for the arrogance of humanity to become monsters or perfect soldiers.
While we should not descarter the fact that humans are the victims of the horrific and evil Gods ...
